Cutless 50W is a Class B plant growth regulator (PGR) used for growth management and quality improvement of various turfgrasses. Its active ingredient is Flurpirimod at a concentration of 50.0%. It works by suppressing gibberellic acid biosynthesis to result in a more compact growth form, increased turfgrass density, and improved wear resistance. It is suitable for both cool-season turfgrasses (like bentgrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, and perennial ryegrass) and warm-season turfgrasses (like seashore paspalum, bermudagrass, and zoysia). Applications are made via boom-type sprayers, with rates varying significantly by turf species and whether it is being tank-mixed with Class A PGRs. For example, bentgrass typically requires 4-16 oz. per acre. The product can be tank-mixed with compatible pesticides and foliar nutrient products. Key handling notes include wearing long-sleeved shirts, long pants, shoes plus socks, and chemical-resistant gloves. Avoid application during temperature inversions or high winds to prevent spray drift. Do not apply directly to water or areas where surface water is present. Always allow for sufficient mixing time to ensure complete dispersion.
